|Recommended: YesMove in — I thought I was going to get a desk in my room. I thought that was a part of the room.
|Recommended: YesSo far good. — Everything has been good.
|Recommended: YesReview — Great place to live
|Recommended: NoReview — Its alright
|Recommended: YesTo Spenser — There is multiple machine in the gyms that have been broken since we got here, nothing has been done. The trash piles up and gets everywhere both the trash dumps and the dogs bins . The bus is always going down… when it snows… it’s by chance if we get things plowed… I would heavily suggest you take a look at this stuff. We aren’t paying almost 500 a month for nothing.
|Recommended: NoWhat you'd expect for the price — The people in the office are super friendly and are open to working with your needs. The groundskeeping here, however, is horrible. There have been multiple occasions of the trash dumpsters overfilling, with trash accumulating over weeks before being fixed. After it just occurs all over again. The amenities MVA claims to have are subpar and often not in functioning order. Examples the pool not opening until August, all of the sticks in the billiards room are broken, the hot tub has been broken for years, and there are better quality gyms at hotels. Maintenance has been subpar as well. I have put in a work order twice now, and they have not fixed the issue, only for me to spend money out of my pocket and fix it myself—finally, the noise. A lady below me runs a dog kennel within her apartment with six dogs barking non-stop all day. Despite all the bad, the apartment is in great shape and what's included in the rent is better than you might find throughout the area.
|Recommended: YesWonderful — The bedroom has minor damages mentioned in the inspection , but it has been great so far
|Recommended: NoThere's better places to live — The area is nice, it's close enough to campus, shopping, food places etc. The people who work in the office and maintenance staff are friendly. The property management couldn't give a rats ass about that place. There's never any parking for you around your building if you arrive home after dark, the building walways to your front door are covered in leaves that constantly get in your house, the outside walkway lights are never turned on so you will definitely come home in the dark, there's no fire extinguisher or carbon monoxide detector located in any unit. As a law enforcement officer and a resident I would not recommend this place. It's nice and affordable, but there's far better places to live in Morgantown.
|Recommended: YesVery good place to live — Sometimes parking is limited, maybe some trash lying around but other than that it is a very good place to live. Maintenance is great.
|Recommended: YesOK place to live — The apartments are a nice size and updated appliances. The gym is very nice and not overcrowded. However, a few of the machines have been broken for a while and don't seem to be getting fixed anytime soon. When we moved in, the carpet was horribly stained, smelled like smoke, and the air vent looked as if it had never been cleaned before. Also, it takes way too long to get a service request addressed. My roommate and I put in non-emergent service requests and it took them over a month to resolve the issues. Also, half of the listed amenities aren't available. For example, the pool didn't open until September this past summer, the tanning beds aren't available, and the shuttle is no longer available. There are only two places on the whole property to take your garbage to and both of them are always overflowing with trash and it's disgusting. I do have noise problems due to the walls being so thin and my bedroom is directly beside the staircase. Overall, this is not a bad place to live and I'm not sure if you would be able to find a better price for a decent place in Morgantown.
|Recommended: YesGreat Place — The apartments are well kept and very enjoyable to live in.
|Recommended: NoLived here for 3 years. It's an alright property. — If you are looking for a relatively quiet place to live, Mountain Valley is great. I have not felt unsafe here, and parking is always available. Staff are overall friendly.
However, there are tradeoffs. Trash is always piled up by dumpsters. I have had multiple maintenance requests go unanswered not fixed. My ceiling is full of water damage, but each maintenance request that I file does not stop the problem.
So, while Mountain Valley is an okay apartment complex, I would not promote living here for more than a year.
|Recommended: YesGood place to live for the price — The staff is kind and the location is nice, however many issues were not taken care of before we moved in, ranging from basic cleaning to a hole in the kitchen floor.
|Recommended: YesGood — Overall Mountain Valley is a nice place to live. My only complaints are that are upstairs neighbors sound like elephants above us and the trash isn't taken as frequently as we'd like, this causes trash to be in the parking lot and does run the risk of hitting vehicles. Other than that the staff is very nice and maintenance is extremely quick. Overall a good place to live.
|Recommended: YesAffordable and decent — For right in Morgantown, you really can't beat the price and the fact that there is a flat rate for utilities. Lots of parking and everything is clean
